Assistant Director of Athletic Communications/Assistant NCAA/CCIW Championship Coordinator

The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications supports student-athletes in recognizing their accomplishments by creating content for parents, alumni, faculty, staff, fans and friends of the University.  This position will support in-game statistics for the Titan athletic program as required by the NCAA, and will serve as a role model/mentor to students interested in athletic communications.  This is a full time, 12 month, on-campus position.  This position is primarily funded by the DIII Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant which includes a generous benefits package. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Sports Coverage; maintain statistics for various supports as required by NCAA and CCIW; manage and oversee student workers; manage external media personnel at assigned events; create gameday programs for assigned sports for distribution to fans and media personnel. Primary coverage for 5-6 sports. Social media manager for assigned sports.
  • Student-Athlete Success/Development; primary communications director for DEI Committee and Student-Wellness team social media efforts; assist ADID, Assistant AD for Athletic Communications with DEI Programming
  • Assistant Director of NCAA/CCIW Championships; assist in planning, coordinating and planning NCAA Championships awarded to IWU. 2025 Softball and 2025 Women’s Volleyball National Championships. Additionally assist with other pre-determined and earned championship events for the NCAA and CCIW.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s required
  • Minimum of one year (1) related experience; experience with SIDEARM, Genius Sports/NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew, Adobe Creative suite software and other computer programs.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules, sport rules, CCIW rules and institutional policies.

Salary $30-$35,000
