Assistant or Associate Professor of Graphic Design 25-26

Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Graphic Design

Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) and the Ames School of Art & Design invite applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Graphic Design beginning January, 2025.  This position is a full time, nine month, on-campus, benefits-eligible position.  

Responsibilities:

  • Teach six courses per academic year as assigned by director
  • Hold weekly office hours
  • Engage in University and SoAD service including but not limited to:
    • Participation in recruitment activities
    • Service on school and university committees
    • Advise students
    • Mentor BFA students for senior show
    • Other duties as assigned by school director or dean

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MFA, MDes, or equivalent in related field
  • College-level teaching experience (Teaching Assistant experience is acceptable)
  • Demonstrated competence in instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and technology used in higher education classrooms and studios
  • Expertise with digital media web and app design, and proficiency in UX and UI
  • Evidence of creative/scholarly achievement
