Director of Annual Giving

The Director of Annual Giving will lead a team in implementing annual giving strategies and programs that include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts from constituents through personal and mass solicitations.  This is a full time, on-campus position.  Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition scholarship programs for employees and dependents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create, plan, administer programs, and perform comprehensive analysis related to all aspects of the Annual Giving programs; set specific annual donor and financial goals for fundraising initiatives, including the renewal, and upgrading of existing donors, and identification and acquisition of new donors; develop and implement a plan of action with objectives, timelines and evaluation plans for the Annual Giving program; execute key Annual Giving programs and appeals, such as All In for Wesleyan, Fiscal Year End, Calendar Year End, Giving Tuesday and matching gifts; oversee annual giving programs and provide strategic oversight to team members executing these programs, such as Engagement Center, leadership giving, giving circles, and the Senior Class campaign
  • Serve as member of the Advancement Leadership Team; oversee Annual Giving staff to ensure effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of constituents; mentor, train and provide development opportunities; participate in departmental events and activities to support overall Advancement goals
  • Manage a portfolio of lead annual giving prospects; conduct visits with prospects assigned in portfolio
  • Collect and analyze data in partnership with the Advancement Systems team to ensure strategic identification, qualification and cultivation activities for prospects; conduct statistical analysis of alumni and donor demographics; track metrics, assess trends, set strategies and ensure accurate coding and tracking of contributions; produce and distribute reports to measure the performance of the Annual Giving communication, revenue and participation goals; annual evaluate Annual Giving programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s required; Marketing, Communications, or related field of study 
  • Five years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of donor database systems (Slate for Advancement, Salesforce, Advance, Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to raise funds and previous experience supervising staff, teams of volunteers or student fundraisers
  • Ability to protect confidential information is essential
  • Ability to travel intermittently and work occasional evening and weekend hours; mostly local travel
  • Valid driver’s license

$65-$70k, based on experience
