Associate Director for Career Readiness

The Associate Director for Career Readiness within the Hart Career Center, provides leadership for student career development. This is a full time, on-campus position.  Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition scholarship programs for employees and dependents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Career Counseling/Readiness; provides vision for and direct counseling regarding career issues at all stages of career development, including self-awareness, exploration, decision-making, implementation, management and re-careering; provides expertise on graduate and professional school preparation; engage in individual career counseling; administer and interpret career assessment instruments; identify and secure internship and experiential opportunities; assist students in job preparation activities; present informal seminars and outreach programs
  • Educational Outreach and Career Exploration Programming; provides vision and leadership for an effective career outreach program; collaborates with faculty to bridge classroom and career initiatives; plan, organize and implement a comprehensive career educational outreach plan; effectively market the office and all programs associated with the career center
  • Graduate School Advisement/Counseling; advise students about the graduate school admissions process; keep current on graduate school trends; assist the programs to help students prepare for the graduate professional school application process, including GRE, LSAT, and other test preparation
  • Career Immersion Excursion; together with Associate Director for Career Engagement, co-lead the annual Career Immersion Excursion program; plan and carry out annual four day/three night career discovery trip
  • Supervision and Office Management; recruit, select, train and evaluate Health Science Career Counselor and two student workers; responsible for developing/updating policies and procedures related to career readiness; assist with departmental assessment including annual reports and outreach effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Three years of related experience; career and/or college student development theory, academic counseling

$52,000-54,500k, based on experience
