Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics
The Department of Economics at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure line position in Economics at the assistant or associate professor level. We seek a dynamic, caring academic professional with evidence of teaching excellence who is dedicated to educating a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. Candidates must have graduated from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in Economics or related field.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching intermediate macroeconomics, and electives in applied macroeconomics and international economics, preferably International Finance and International Trade. They will also teach introductory economics and statistics, as well as courses for campus-wide programs such as Gateway Colloquium. In addition to teaching, these positions require advising and mentoring economics students, fostering relationships with external organizations for the benefit of our students, assisting with curriculum management, participating in campus committees, and engaging in appropriate scholarship. Scholarly productivity is supported, including collaborative research with faculty and students. The University community prides itself on rapport among students, faculty, and staff.
