The Associate VP of Human Resources is responsible for creating and implementing the strategic vision for Human Resource services, programs, and policies, leading the operational management of the Human Resources Department and serving as a working manager.  This role also serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator.  This is a full-time, on campus position. Responsibilities:

  • Direct the HR function; oversee the daily operations of the HR department; supervise team of HR staff; plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities for HR employees; develop and implement HR policies and procedures; provide interpretation and guidance as required; ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including labor laws and regulations; advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, FMLA, ADA, and Title IX; work closely with the VP for DEI; provide strategic direction and recommendations to both the HR team, and senior leaders of IWU
  • Employee Relations; Support and provide guidance for managers at all levels in how to effectively manage employee performance; serve as a link between managers and employees, handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and procedures and helping resolve work-related problems; provide counseling and support to employees on work-related issues
  • Total Rewards; provide oversight and leadership in the management of insurance and other benefits for employees; analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and recruit and retain highly qualified staff and faculty; perform job classification and compensation analysis
  • Title IX Coordinator; serve as university Title IX Coordinator, with responsibility for ensuring compliance with TIX laws and regulations; coordinate monthly TIX team meetings; perform as SME for TIX policy interpretation and the provision of support to TIX Complainants and Respondents. Provide Title IX support as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred; significant experience in HR management at a supervisory level may substitute for preferred education
  • Five years progressive experience within human resources; SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Knowledge of personnel principles and procedures and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources; priority given to candidates with previous TIX experience

Salary $106-112k, commensurate with experience
