Assistant Professor of Business Law

The Department of Business Administration at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor.  Employment will begin August 2025. Candidates are expected to have a JD with significant professional and/or educational experiences to teach additional business courses. The ideal candidate has a joint JD-MBA. The primary teaching responsibility of the new hire would be to teach multiple sections of business law each year. In addition, we are interested in someone who can contribute to our business offerings such as organizational management and other upper-level management electives.

Along with teaching, this position requires mentoring business students, participating in university service, and engaging in appropriate scholarship. 

Candidates must have graduated from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants are expected to have completed their graduate training by August 1, 2025.

The departments of Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, and Finance have recently joined into a single entity to create a new School of Business and Economics. The person hired into this position will have a chance to contribute to the re-envisioning of the business curriculum.
