It is possible to have fun and be social, and to also be safe. Alcohol is not fundamental to a good time, and 32% of IWU students choose not to use it but still have a great time with their friends! Further, about 2/3 of IWU students who use alcohol consistently report that they use alcohol responsibly every time they drink. Knowledge, good information, a trusted group of friends, and mutual accountability are all self-protective strategies. The pages collected here provide good information to help students:
- make reasonable and responsible choices about their alcohol use,
- to be aware of their level of intoxication,
- to help keep a friend from drunk or buzzed driving,
- or to help a friend who has become too intoxicated.
In addition, policies related to medical amnesty, sexual violence and sexual assault, and campus and community emergency contacts are included. The following information is provided to help students make smart, self-protective choices that help every individual Come Home Safe.
