BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Generous Titan supporters have the opportunity to go all out and be All In for Wesleyan during the University’s annual day of giving on Tuesday, April 8.
All In for Wesleyan is a one-day fundraising campaign aimed at equipping current and future IWU students with essential resources. The initiative generates financial support for scholarships, research, experiential learning, facility upgrades, athletic programs and more.
Last year, a record-breaking 3,963 donors collectively raised more than $2.7 million in 24 hours, with every dollar directly supporting Titan students in their goals to become IWU graduates. This year’s theme “Go All Out, Be All In” reflects the limitless generosity of the campus community. Since 2013, All In for Wesleyan has raised over $15.8 million from 33,963 donors.
“I'm amazed every year to see the unity, pride and generosity that takes place during All In for Wesleyan. Each contribution, no matter the size, has a direct impact on current and future generations of students. This year, let’s go all out, be all in, and show how the Titan community has a strong spirit to give back,” said Val Hawkins '09, Assistant Vice President for Advancement.
Several anonymous donors have already made altruistic pledges to support fundraising challenges throughout the day, including one donor who will contribute an additional $1 million once the campaign raises $1 million for the University’s most critical funds. Brent A. Anderson ’70, along with three anonymous alumni from the classes of 1970 and 1995, will match every dollar given to the General Student Scholarship Fund — up to $45,000. IWU Board of Trustees Member Dirk Behrends ’87 is sponsoring numerous challenges to support groups like the Young Alumni Council and Pride Alumni Community Scholarship — and Behrends will match gifts to the Parent Fund, up to $10,000, in honor of his late father who would have turned 81 on April 8.
Students can join in the celebration with Kona Ice treats near the Memorial Center from 1-4 p.m., a coffee bar in Nell Eckley Lounge from 2-4 p.m., trivia at Tommy’s restaurant at 7:30 p.m. and a pep rally and balloon drop in Hansen Student Center at 9:30 p.m.
The official All In for Wesleyan website will go live at midnight on April 8: www.iwu.edu/all-in. Titan friends and family are also encouraged to show their support on social media by using the hashtags #AllInForWesleyan and #GoAllOutBeAllIn.
