BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — A school-record number of Illinois Wesleyan University students have been recognized for their high achievement in both athleticism and academics, with 10 Titans named as Academic All-Americans for the 2023-24 school year.
The Academic All-America program, managed by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), honors student-athletes for their excellence in both sports and academics. Nominees for Academic All-America awards must meet high athletic standards and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher. CSC recognizes Academic All-America teams consisting of student-athletes participating at all levels of NCAA competition, as well as NAIA, NJCAA and U Sports.
“These 10 student-athletes — and all of our Academic All-Americans throughout the years — embody the commitment to excellence in academics, their respective sports and the community that Illinois Wesleyan University is all about,” said IWU Athletic Director Mike Wagner. “These student-athletes have excelled in the classroom, embracing the academic rigor offered at IWU on a daily basis, while also competing for conference and national championships.”
Wagner said this group displays the “and” experience offered at Illinois Wesleyan, where students can pursue multiple passions at one time.
