Department:
School Of Music
Alex Smith
Alex Smith has taught all over the country for over 30 years. During his time at ISU, he studied classical guitar with Dr. Douglas Rubio and Dr. Angelo Favis. He also studied composition with world-renowned composer Roque Cordero, and took graduate level courses in music theory and music history with John Rehm and Arthur Cora, rounded off with a master class taught by classical guitarist Paul Henry. Additionally, he played in several solo and ensemble recitals in the region.

He particularly specializes in fingerpicking, but like many career guitar teachers is a jack-of-all-trades.
