Director of Swimming & Diving, Director of Fort Natatorium and Assistant Professor in Physical Education, Sport & Wellness

Illinois Wesleyan University, a NCAA Division III institution and member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, invites applications for the position of full-time, 11 month,  Director of Swimming & Diving, Director of Fort Natatorium and Assistant Professor in Physical Education, Sport & Wellness

We are seeking a Director of Swimming & Diving that is committed to excellence in academics, athletics, and service while focusing on developing the whole person.  Preference will be given to those candidates that also have a proven track record or skills necessary to recruit top student-athletes that will be a great fit for the institution.  The Director will manage all aspects of the men’s and women’s swimming & diving program including but not limited to;  budgeting, fundraising, meet scheduling, meet management, practice planning and supervision of full-time assistant swimming & diving coach/assistant director of Fort Natatorium.  The Director is responsible for recruiting, retaining and graduating student-athletes, monitoring student athlete’s academic progress, off-season programs, assisting with public and media relations efforts, coordinating team community service and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Director of Fort Natatorium duties will include working with assistant director on pool management, maintenance, scheduling, etc. Teaching load will be one lifeguard training or swimming course per semester. Successful candidate will adhere to all rules of the CCIW, NCAA, & IWU and will fulfill the requirements and expectations of the Illinois Wesleyan University athletic department. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years experience. Previous coaching and/or swimming experience at the collegiate level is preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
