The National Alliance on Mental Illness defines a mental health crisis as “any situation in which a person’s behavior puts them at risk of hurting themselves or others and/or prevents them from being able to care for themselves or function effectively in the community.” (National Alliance on Mental Illness, 2018).

Community Resources
McLean County Behavioral Health Urgent Care: The Behavioral Health Urgent Care at the Center for Human Services is available free of charge to individuals aged 18 and older experiencing a behavioral health crisis. They are located at 520 N. Center St., in Bloomington IL. Their hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 am, Saturday 5:00 pm - 1:00 am, Sunday 9:00 am - 1:00 am.
