CCS Services
Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) provides free confidential services for currently enrolled students, indirect consultation with students, faculty / staff, training and support to Residence Life Staff, advisers, and other faculty and staff who support student mental health, and outreach / prevention programs.
Counseling is provided by licensed psychologists, counselors, and social workers, for a variety of concerns, including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, trauma, loss, adjustment, time management, and study skills.

Clinical Services Include:
CCS offers 30-minute crisis / urgent appointments each day.
CCS crisis / urgent hours:
M, W, F 10am-12pm and Tu, Th, 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Students experiencing a crisis outside of these hours are welcome to call CCS during normal business hours or visit our emergencies page for after-hours crisis resources.
Often the treatment of choice for students, individuals meet weekly with a select number of their peers and one to two counselors. Visit our group counseling page to learn more.
Training, Support, and Outreach Services:
In accordance with our mission to enhance the personal growth, holistic well-being, and academic success of our students, CCS is proud to provide consultation, training, support, and outreach services to students, student groups, faculty / staff, and the larger campus community. Our aim is to enhance the general campus climate with these services.
CCS offers:
- Indirect consultation with faculty or staff who have concerns about particular students (e.g., "My advisee seems so sad and unmotivated. What should I do?"). If you would like to consult with a counselor please call our office at 309-556-3052 during normal business hours.
- Training and support to Residential Life staff, advisers, and other faculty and others who can support student mental health.
- Outreach/prevention programs to student groups and the larger campus community on various topics such as perfectionism, stress management, sexual assault prevention, alcohol education, etc. These programs can be presented to classes, residential hall floor meetings, fraternities/sororities, or other student organizations.
