President S. Georgia Nugent was recognized for her resolute leadership by the Illinois Wesleyan University Board of Trustees as she concludes her tenure as the University’s 20th president.

Illinois Wesleyan Announces Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Illinois Wesleyan University’s Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year consisted of 760 students from 29 states and 29 countries.

Hovde '24 Earns Technos Award for Peacebuilding Passion

Through her passion for human rights and dedication to peacebuilding, Zoe Hovde '24 was named the 2024 Technos International Prize winner as a senior at Illinois Wesleyan.

Alumni Shares Passion for Supporting LGBTQ Individuals in Honor of Pride Month

IWU Board of Trustees Member Dirk L. Behrends ‘87 is an advocate for equality and elevating marginalized voices. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Behrends said, "If I can help members of my community remove or navigate around any barrier to full human equality, then my time and treasure have been well spent."

Olivia Lett '12 was named the head women's basketball coach for University of Illinois Springfield. As a student athlete, she helped lead the IWU women's basketball team to the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship.

Several Juneteenth celebrations will be taking place in Bloomington and the surrounding communities. The holiday has been celebrated for over 150 years, but the first-ever celebration in Bloomington took place on the quad of Illinois Wesleyan University in 1993.

Lauren Nelson '09, who teaches Russian at Pritzker College Prep in Chicago, was named a Distinguished Teacher by Noble Schools.

John A. Kauerauf '83 was named legal counsel for The Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church.

Dean of the School of Business and Economics Bryan C. McCannon '98 co-authored a paper that was published in the journal Kyklos titled, "Experts and Arbitration Outcomes: Insights from Public Procurement Contract Disputes".

Digital Scholarship Librarian Abby Mann was featured as Association of College and Research Libraries Member of the Week.

University Librarian & Copyright Officer Stephanie Davis-Kahl has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of the Association of College & Research Libraries College Library Director Mentorship Program.

Information Literacy & Scholarly Communications Librarian Chris Sweet recently presented the poster "Transitioning from bepress's Selected Works to Elsevier's Pure: A Cautionary Tale" at the Bibliometrics and Research Impact Community Conference in Vancouver, Washington.
