Survey Finds 99% of 2023 Grads Employed or Continuing Education

Nearly 99% of alumni from the class of 2023 were employed or continuing their education within six months of graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University, according to the annual First Destination Survey conducted by IWU’s Hart Career Center. 

Das '26, Satheeshreddy '26 Named Inaugural Beckman Scholars

The first pair of Illinois Wesleyan University students have been selected to complete long-term research through the Beckman Scholars Program. Each will be granted an $18,200 stipend and a budget for research supplies and travel opportunities.

Co-founder of Cayuga Climate Action Dominic Gambaiani '19 recently convinced the city council of Auburn, New York, to pass a resolution supporting deconstruction and reuse of building materials rather than sending demolition waste to a landfill.

Itzel Mendoza '24 and Samantha Wilcox '24 were involved in IWU's Women in Politics as students and were recently featured on a podcast episode of Democracy Now, exploring the role women play in politics in the U.S.

University Archivist & Special Collections Librarian Liz Bloodworth graduated with her Masters of Library & Information Science from the University of Missouri on May 12, and was awarded a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, administered by the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board and the Illinois State Archives. The funding will be used to digitize, describe, and share our collection of Civil War diaries and World War I letters.

 

Trevor Seibring '17 was promoted to vice president of commercial lending for Heartland Bank's Bloomington market.

With Deepest Sympathy

Evan Milsteadt, son of Assistant Registrar for Transfer Articulation and Programs Beth Milsteadt, passed away on May 28 at age 24. There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, with a visitation from 1-3 p.m. at the Memorial Home. An obituary is online.
