Local Youth Explore STEM Creativity with MakerGirl Workshops Led by Titans

Students with area elementary schools visited campus this year to participate in IWU’s MakerGirl Academy workshops with STEM themes, led by volunteer Titan ChangeMakers.

Seven Student Films Featured at Phenom Film Festival

Hansen Student Center will host the fourth annual Phenom Film Festival showcasing the creative work of film and theatre students at Illinois Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. today, Monday, April 29.

Titan Athletics

The IWU men's lacrosse team earned its sixth straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season title after defeating Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on April 27. IWU will host Carthage College for a CCIW semifinal game Wednesday, May 1.

For the second time in his career, Illinois Wesleyan men's swimming and diving senior Ethan Lowder was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America selection. Lowder becomes the only one in program history to earn the distinction in back-to-back years, and his selection boosts IWU's all-time Academic All-America total to 152.

Associate Professor of Nursing Dr. Brenda Knoll '89 is the first runner up for the 2024 American Nurses Association (ANA) Innovation Award for her international work and reach of PIOMI LLC (Premature Infant Oral Motor Intervention). Knoll also co-authored a new publication with a team of rehabilitation physicians and therapists from Iran University of Medical Sciences to pilot the use of Kinesio-tape (KT) in combination with PIOMI on five premature infants. This combination of interventions resulted in improved oral motor function, improved feeding, and weight gain.

Jennifer Kentos '06 was named senior vice president and relationship manager for Associated Bank in Chicago.
