Jia '25, Rogers '25 Named Eckley Summer Scholars

Four Titans with the IWU men's and women's track and field team qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on March 8-9. They are Imani Ogunribido '27, Adriana Crabtree '26, Evan Lowder '26 and Adam Beasley '27.

Spring Break Holiday and University Hours

The campus will be closed Monday, March 11, as a staff holiday for spring break. 4 o'clock office hours will be observed for the remainder of the week, from March 12-15.

Senior Leadership Award Nominations

Our Senior Leadership Awards recognize graduating seniors for their outstanding leadership contributions at IWU. Nominations are open for both December 2023 and May 2024 grads (see list here). Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate seniors who have shown exceptional leadership qualities, resilience in overcoming obstacles, or significant contributions to campus life and the community. Your recommendations can be detailed letters or brief emails outlining the student's achievements. Resumes are optional. All nominees receive a Certificate of Merit, and up to 10 seniors will receive the Distinguished Student Leadership Award. Please submit nominations by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 8, to Karla Carney-Hall at dstudent@iwu.edu.

Upcoming Flexible Spending Deadlines

If you have a remaining balance in your 2023 Flexible Spending account:

  • March 15, 2024 is the deadline to incur expenses to use toward your 2023 balance.
  • April 30, 2024 is the deadline for BPC to receive your requests for reimbursement.

 

You can check your balance by contacting BPC at 877-272-8880 or by logging in to your account at www.bpcinc.com.

 

All Flex requests for reimbursement should be sent directly to BPC. Requests can be sent by mail, fax, online through the BPC website or by using the BPC phone app. If you need a reimbursement form, an electronic form can be found on the BPC website and the HR Employee Benefits webpage.

Thomas Traynor '08, a chemistry alum, is the head of engineering at Equatic.tech. The company recently unveiled plans for the world's largest ocean-based carbon removal plant.
