IWU One of 14 Institutions Selected for Prestigious Beckman Scholars Program

An opportunity to experience one-on-one research with Illinois Wesleyan professors and network with scientists around the country has been made possible for students through funding from the Beckman Scholars Program.

The IWU men's basketball team defeated Carthage College on Saturday, Feb. 10, claiming the Titan's share of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title. The team locked in the No. 1 seed and hosting responsibilities in the upcoming CCIW tournament.

Michael Melick '02 is the board president of The Project XV Museum in El Paso, Illinois. The museum, which is still being developed, will tell the story of Illinois' first Black voter David Strother. It will be the state's first voting rights museum.

The Black Student Union is hosting several events on campus in honor of Black History Month, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host the 6th annual Unity Gala on March 2.

Dean of Students Office Staffing

Phyllis McCluskey-Titus will be assisting with coordinating orientation and responding to student concerns on an interim basis through June. We appreciate her expertise in implementing these critical retention-centered activities. She can be reached in the Dean of Students office at 309-556-3111.

Ash Wednesday Service

An Ash Wednesday service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in Evelyn Chapel. The service will be led by the Rev. Mollie Ward, Director of Spiritual Care at Carle Bromenn Medical Center. The organ will be played by Bill and Faye Bartley.
