During this year's Evergreen Cemetery Walk in Bloomington, Darraugh Maxine '23 is portraying Annie Ethel Jones, a Black woman who moved to Bloomington in 1922, later becoming a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and the McLean County Poor Farm. Assistant Professor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry Lindsay Sicks '06 will be inducted into Orland Park's Consolidated High School District 230 Hall of Fame.

Nurse Practitioner with Chicago's Oak Street Health Kayla Worley '13 received the College of Nursing Alumni Award from the University of Saint Francis, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree.

Associate Professor of Nursing Dr. Brenda Knoll '89 has published a study on a combination therapy partnered with her Premature Infant Oral Motor Intervention therapy (PIOMI). Her team of researchers from two hospitals in Tehran, Iran, have found that the addition of classical music to the end of the oral motor therapy further improves preterm infants ability to learn feeding skills, leading to significantly earlier discharge. Strategies for earlier discharge are impactful to the high economic burden of neonatal care in Iran.
