Hart Career Center Gives Students a Head Start in Career Exploration

Students at Illinois Wesleyan University have a valuable resource on campus through the Hart Career Center, and this year the calendar is full of new and returning events to offer exploration of specific career fields — including the inaugural Finance Career Night tonight from 6-8 p.m.

Titan Athletics

Illinois Wesleyan head men's and women's swimming and diving coach Teresa Fish was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame at Kenyon (Ohio) College on Friday, Sept. 9. The Kenyon Athletics Hall of Fame provides recognition to well-deserving athletes, administrators, coaches and staff members who brought distinction and honor to the college's athletics department. Fish earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1988 at Kenyon.

Professor and R. Forrest Colwell Endowed Chair of English James Plath curates The John Updike Childhood Home museum in Shillington, Pennsylvania. Plath is president of The John Updike Society, which honors the American novelist. (Subscription required.)

Broadway World

The new cast for the 2023 North American tour of Hadestown will include Ian Coulter-Buford '12, who will perform as a swing cast member.

Wellness Corner

Yoga begins this week! Kim Hayes, owner of the Blooming Life Yoga Studio, will be instructing yoga on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:15-12:50 p.m. in the Shirk Center's Niepagen South Classroom. Yoga mats are provided and the sessions are free of charge for IWU employees. 

 

Yoga gives you a wonderful break in the middle of the day. It helps get more oxygen to your brain, helps digestion, gives you peace of mind, helps you stay grounded and have better focus. Just a few reasons to give it a try!
