McLean County Unit 5 Referendum Informational Session
Illinois Wesleyan faculty and staff are invited to join McLean County Unit 5 Superintendent Kirsten Weikle for an informational session on the tax referendum that will appear on the April 4 ballot. The session will be on Thursday, March 23, at 4 p.m. in the Vinyard Room of the Memorial Center. There will be an opportunity for questions following the presentation.
After a community engagement process, the Unit 5 Board of Education proposed the referendum as a solution to the district’s multi-million-dollar structural deficit in its education fund. The referendum failed to pass in the November election and the Board of Education voted to put it on the ballot again for April.
