Promotion and Tenure Committee (PAT)

The Promotion and Tenure committee advises the President concerning personnel matters as to the awarding of tenure, the reappointment of probationary faculty, and the awarding of promotions in rank. The Promotion and Tenure committee may also study policies and practices in faculty personnel matters including standards of recruitment, promotion, tenure, separation, working conditions, and compensation. When a case occurs that involves possible dismissal for cause of a tenured or non-tenured faculty member, the Provost/Dean shall convene a joint meeting of the Promotion and Tenure Committee and the Faculty Development Committee.
