About Student Conduct
Mission Statement
The mission of the conduct system at IWU is to ensure community standards are maintained through resolving conflict and violations against responsibilities to self, to others, and to the campus community. Leading with an educational approach, the conduct process strives to promote honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility while adhering to core tenets of fairness and due process.

What is Student Rights & Responsibilities
The Dean of Students Office is responsible for oversight of the student conduct system, and administers the conduct process at IWU. This process is rooted in equity and principles of civility and social justice. As a member of our community, we believe students have certain rights including:
- Procedural due process if accused of violation of student code.
- Confidentiality of disciplinary records in accordance with University, local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Explanation of violations
To remain a member of our community, students have the following responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the student code of conduct
- Follow all university, local, state, and federal policies and guidelines.
- Treat everyone in our campus community with dignity and respect.
