Christina Armstrong
Interim Director of Counseling and Consultation Services
Christina Armstrong, MSW, LCSW
Years of experience: 18 years
Years at IWU: 11 years
Areas of focus: trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem/body image, family/relationship issues, and adjustment-related difficulties.
Interests: I am a proud mom of twin girls who are very active in gymnastics, ballet, academics, and being creative. I also enjoy hiking, CrossFit, traveling, reading, boating, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Personal motto: It takes a lot of courage to start therapy, as many of us are hard-wired to believe we need to do things on our own. Don't carry the pain on your own when others are here to help you through it.
Most rewarding part of counseling: To be able to witness growth in spite of all the pain and obstacles someone has had to endure, all while knowing that they have trusted me to help guide them through this journey called life.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
