Alela graduated from Millikin University in 2024 with her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Therapy. During her time at her alma mater, she was the President of Black Student Union, a Resident Assistant, a House Manager for the Kirkland Fine Arts Center, and also an active in InterVarsity. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and was one of the commencement speakers for her graduating class. Her involvement, engagement, and love for working with young adults led her to pursuing a career in higher education and ensuring incoming students have a smooth transition into university life.
