Tributaries staff would like to thank ISU's Euphemism for all their support and enthusiasm, IWU's Lyrical Graffiti for organizing and hosting our slam poet Alvin Lau, the English Departments of IWU and ISU (for everything!), The Pierre Bourdieu Memorial Reading Series at ISU & Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas at ISU for bringing us the poets Shanna Compton, Danielle Pafunda & Jennifer L. Knox, and the CTLT for a grant to cover some of our expenses. This year's conference wouldn't be so amazing without the cooperation of all of these great organizations!
Tongue & Ink is a two-day conference designed especially for undergraduate writers. It will be an opportunity for you to write, share your work, see what other people are doing, talk to professionals, try some new approaches, and meet other writers. There will be sessions Friday afternoon and Saturday with professors, writers, editors, and students from around the Midwest. You will have an opportunity to attend master classes, read at open mics, discuss your writing in small workshops led by student leaders and seasoned writers, or attend panels on a variety of topics. There will be poetry slams and speakers. Everyone at every level is welcome and the conference is FREE: if you like to write, come hang out with us!
